I really struggled with how I should feel before the opener, and why I was so apathetic. Luckily my buddy scheduled his wedding at the Foundation Hall the night before the game. Turning to the game, I wasn’t sure whether I would cheer or just sit there. I wanted to wake up on Friday morning and put my car flags on and drive down to Huntington listening to Thunderstruck over and over again like I did every other year. I didn’t. I got in my car and drove down to my buddy’s wedding, mostly pondering how I was going to act once I got to the Joan. Luckily for me my buddy Danny, who is a great Herdfan (and Yurachek’s No. 1 Fan) sat with me. We ended up yelling on third down just like we always do and cheering on good plays. It definitely isn’t the same as it was before last year, but hopefully we as a fan base will get past this awkwardness. Speaking of awkwardness, I’ve struggled with whether I am going to blog this year. Well, let’s let the real awkwardness begin:
