As a Herdfan and moderator, I've been struggling since the season ended. With all of the rumors swirling, I have really tried to be a decent moderator and read all of the posts to make sure everything is in compliance with the board's terms of use. Reading all of the rumors and the fighting amongst Herdfans has not helped my personal mood. I have found myself bouncing back and forth between hope and disdain. At one point, I noticed some of my Herdfans buddies changed their negative view and started posting positively. I asked what was up, and was told that they had moved on to next year. I'm posting this blog both in response to a request from a member on the board, and to try a creative outlet to make myself feel better about the past football season.
For those of you who are not familiar with Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot," (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wifcyo64n-w) it is an American classic play about two bums, Estragon and Vladimer, waiting for a man named Godot. While they wait, they discuss philosophical matters in a manner that streetpersons would. I starting thinking about the first quote below when Moonshine Throwdown tweeted about fans being helpless last week. After looking at a few more quotes, I thought I would give a Beckett themed blog a try. This particular theme would probably not have been possible without the inspirations that I received from Drs. Milicia, Plybon and Sullivan. Let's give this a try, I hope it works:
